#16 Explore Chinatown Food and Culture Walking Tour (9/12/11)

I took the Foods of New York Tours Chinatown tour last month. I can't believe I worked for FNYT for three and a half years before I got around to taking the Chinatown tour and I HIGHLY recommend it! It is structured differently from our other 4 tours because three of the tastings are seated in restaurants, it has more protein on the tour too and I was STUFFED afterwords. It totally opened my eyes to how cool Chinatown is once you get away from Canal Street. Here are a couple photos from the tour. Sign up to take the tour here: http://www.foodsofny.com/chinatown.php

Chive and shrimp dumpling at the first stop Dim Sum Go Go

The Lunar Festival happened to be going on that day and this is a parade that we saw

Very classic Chinatown street (minus the construction)

Peking duck and fixings at the Peking Duck House (one of the restaurants on the Sifty Fifty)

The chef carving our Peking Duck (delicious!)

Raheem, our tour guide, showing us how to build our pancake.
