#17 New York Public Library and gallery (10/4/11)

I've been to Bryant Park many, many times and seen the exterior of the main public library but I had never been inside until earlier this month, and the interior is AMAZING! I knew they had a public gallery inside and right now the library is celebrating it's 100th birthday so the gallery is filled with general highlights from the library's collections.

The ceiling on the third floor

The main reading room

I think this used to be a water fountain but it is not in use anymore

The gallery; it was divided into 4 sections, of course my favorite things were in the "Creativity" section. They also had a KKK robe in another section. It was cool to see, but creepy and I didn't want to take a picture of it.

The Broadway set design model for Sunday in the Park with George

Drawings from the Wizard of Oz books

Jerome Robbins' diary (January through March 1973)

Early edition of Frankenstein, a lock of Mary Shelley's hair, and a Frankenstein comic book.
